Hello everyone! We are the Eternal team, and we are happy to announce that our streamer NFT platform is about to go live on Flow blockchain.
Authenticity is important when it comes to building an NFT platform. The Eternal team is made up of lifelong gamers who also happen to be experts at blockchain. Our founders have previously built Layer-1 blockchain technologies and even exited companies to Coinbase.
With Eternal, we are looking to put streamers' best moments in the hands of those who value them the most; their fans. By collecting Eternal moments, fans are able to financially support their favorite streamers while owning their greatest streaming highlights, which are exciting to watch, fun to share, and best of all... ETERNAL.
Epic Clips
At its core, an Eternal moment is a video clip captured on stream. By working directly with streamers, we make sure to only use clips that best represent the streamers’ skills and personality.
To ensure that the clips are truly eternal, we store them in the InterPlanetary File System (IPFS), a global, always-on storage network that cannot be censored or taken down. As such, you and your friends will always be able to watch your Eternal moments, even if they are no longer available on the original streaming platforms.
Unforgettable Moments
Eternal moments are non-fungible tokens, or NFTs. Our NFT design is largely inspired by NBA Top Shot, inheriting features that made it a hit among NFT collectors:
It’s worth noting how incentives are aligned between the fans and the streamers. By collecting moments from a streamer, fans support their favorite creators. As the streamer grows more successful, the value of their moments could go up, in which case fans would be rewarded as well.
In other words, collecting moments is a great way to support your favorite streamers and share their success!
Supporting Streamers
As alluded to earlier, fans can financially support streamers by collecting their moments. On Eternal, each streamer has their own blockchain address, and the Eternal marketplace contract is coded such that a configurable portion of each transaction goes back to the streamer.
The benefit of this approach is two-fold:
Packs & Auctions
Eternal moments are generally released in packs, which are collections of moments with a given rarity distribution. For instance, each Alpha Pack (more details below) will have 3 commons, 1 uncommon, and 1 rare or mythic.
In addition to packs, streamers can choose to release their moments in auctions. Eternal uses a unique auction model where multiple moments can be sold in a single auction, giving access to rare moments to a large number of collectors.
Auctions and packs go hand-in-hand to provide the best experience for all kinds of collectors. Fans of a specific streamer may bid directly for their most sought-after moments; at the same time, casual collectors still have the chance to find super valuable moments by simply opening packs.
I’m sold, how do I participate?
Eternal will be launching this month with some of the most popular streamers on Twitch, starting with Rogue from NRG Esports. The first pack drop will focus on the First-Person Shooter (FPS) genre; you can expect to find breathtaking highlights from popular titles such as Call of Duty, Apex Legends, and more.
